For our first project, Homes For a Better World is teaming up with Colette’s Homeless Shelter in Huntington Beach. Colette’s opened it’s doors in 1999 and has since grown to house over 160 women and children in over 8 locations in Huntington Beach and the surrounding areas.

Currently, Homes For a Better World is utilizing the power of the internet to raise awareness for this great cause. We are encouraging any local businesses and people to donate directly to Colette’s or to Homes For a Better World. Either way, 100% of the proceeds will go toward Colette’s and the wonderful work they are doing in our community.

We had a chance to recently tour one of the Shelters of Colette’s, and want to encourage anyone who fills obligated to give, to send their donations to Colette’s. The organization works with women using a 6-12 month graduation program, which encourages vocational skills, savings, and support groups to assist the women towards independence.

Above all, we want to highlight the vital work of Colette’s to help end the generational cycle of homelessness among women and children in our very own community.

Also, your donations go along way! For only $217 a month, you can support a women or child for one month in the program. All donations cover the costs of housing, food, clothing, books, vocational and educational programs. Even donations of lesser value, can still go towards these needs.

100% of the proceeds go to Colette’s. Each week we will shoot a short video update of the work going on with Colette’s and will highlight any local business or person as a sponsor in these videos. Our purpose is to raise awareness and directly connect the fundamental needs of the less fortunate in our community to local businesses and people. Together we can start making a better world, right here in Huntington Beach!

We are continuing to organize and build Homes for a Better World to serve our local community and are always encouraging people to contact us to get involved. As we prepare to get going, we are reminded of the huge needs of others far less fortunate than ourselves and encourage you to keep them in mind.
